Mercedes-Benz Fall 2012 Fashion Week NYC: Diesel

Guido completing the look at Diesel

Guido Palau, lead stylist for Redken, was masterful backstage at the fall 2012 Diesel show. He created a look that was part ingénue, part 1960’s and part tomboy.  He started out by using Redken Full Frame Mousse throughout the hair for volume and texture. Letting it dry naturally or drying it very casually he parted the hair to one side exposing a boyish side burn. Guido then tied elastic around the hair for a low ponytail.  He finished the looked with Redken’s Forceful 23 Hairspray-spraying from the crown up for the 1960’s effect. "Nothing had to be perfect apart from the ponytail," he said.

The CoverGirl team, led by Pat McGrath, created tomboyish and simple looks with an emphasis on the eyes. Pat used Covergirl Liquiline Blast Eyeliner in Black Fire  and  Smoky Shadow Blast Shadow Stick in Onyx Smoke "for a look that any girl can do herself."
