Mercedes-Benz Fall/Winter 2014 Fashion Week: Mathieu Mirano

Mathieu Mirano’s latest collection includes tough elements like fur and leather alongside elegant designs to give looks an edge, so hair lead Rita Marmor for Oribe Hair Care wanted to also create contrast in the hair. To achieve this, she made a clean center part juxtaposed with a rough, natural ponytail. “You get the best of both worlds with this look,” she says. “You get the luxurious feeling from the glossy front and a roughness from the ponytail.”

Marmor parted hair down the middle, then misted with Maximista Thickening Spray from roots to mid-lengths. Once hair was dry, she used Superfine Hair Spray and a comb to gather hair into a low ponytail at the nape of the neck. Next, she ran Surfcomber Tousled Texture Mousse through the hair and blow-dried, finishing with Dry Texturizing Spray to break up strands.

For makeup, Mac Cosmetics lead Benjamin Puckey kept things pure and cool by creating a glossy taupe lid on a bare face. Mascara was applied to the upper lashes only, and gloss was added to lids just before showtime.

Nails were led by Miss Pop for Essie, who called on two colors:  Licorice, and a vertical sliver of Bordeaux.
