Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week Fall 2013 NYC: Vera Wang

Paul Hanlon, lead hairstylist for Moroccanoil, took a departure for the hair look at Vera Wang from seasons past. "It's not as elaborate this time," he told me. "It's younger and fresh, and texture is key." To achieve the look, Hanlon prepped damp hair with Moroccanoil Volumizing Mousse and new Heat Styling Protection before blow-drying it. He then created a messy center part and lightly tonged the hair with a curling iron. Finally, he used a bit of Dry Scalp Treatment at the ends of the hair to produce a little separation and texture before spraying the look with Luminous Hairspray Medium.

Clé de Peau Beauté Makeup Creative Director Lucia Pieroni was also on hand backstage creating a "relaxed but polished" makeup look, which featured clean skin, exaggerated eyebrows and semimatte dark Bordeaux red lips. Completing the beauty look, notable manicurist and nail salon owner Jin Soon Choi polished nails with a lavender-tinged gray shade called Auspicious from her namesake lacquer collection. "It's a chic, modern color that's more wearable than a typical gray," she told me.
