Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week NYC Fall ‘10: GANT by Michael Bastian

The fall 2010 collection of GANT by Michael Bastian was presented in a sports-inspired setting: The space was set up as part locker room, part lacrosse field, part tarmac. It perfectly corresponded to the classic, masculine collection, which in turn inspired the hair styling to be sporty and rugged. Led by Ben Skervin for Aveda, the hair styling team crafted natural, right-out-of-the-locker room looks that had volume and a touch of rough edges. Lisa Vann, an Aveda guest artist, described the look as "flatter in the back, and the front is a texture explosion." To achieve the look, the stylists used the Aveda Volumizing Tonic, Men Pure-Formance Pomade and Grooming Clay. The makeup was similarly "fresh, clean and outdoorsy," according to Janell Geason, a makeup artist for Aveda. The models' faces were freshly moisturized with Tourmaline Charged Hydrating Creme and the lips were covered in Lip Saver SPF 15, which worked well with the natural look since it doesn't leave any sheen.
