Mercedes-Benz Spring ‘11 Fashion Week NYC: Cynthia Rowley

At Cynthia Rowley, lead stylist Bok-Hee for Antonio Prieto Salon created a structured classic updo that was given a street-vibe with the addition of a single metallic Wella Professionals colored hair extension that was woven into the hair. The hair extensions were lightened with Blondor and Extra Cool Blondes and then saturated with colors in the Color Touch and Koleston Perfect Special Blondes porfolio. "The darker the natural hair color, the lighter the extension we chose to add," Bok-Hee says. A classic 20's twist at the side of the head secured with brightly colored clips completed the look.

The look was achieved by first sectioning hair into a deep angled part starting from above the ear in the opposite direction and working through Wella Professionals High Hair Styling Mousse. Next, hair was blow dried completely smooth and a 1/4-inch of hair was sectioned off  to place the colored extension and combed over. Hair was then brought into a tight low ponytail and twisted around to the opposite side of the head and twisted into a figure eight. Hair was then pinned to the head and tucked under, and brightly colored clips were added. A combination of High Hair 45 Seconds Styler hairspray and High Hair Gloss Serum finished the look and added intense shine.

For makeup, Val Garland for M.A.C created "naive and innocent" look with a Twiggy-inspired eye and bold lip. Twenty coats of mascara were applied to the bottom lash to create a fake lash effect without actually using fake lashes. Skin was left clean and fresh with a natural blush to give a little color and Strut Your Stuff Kissable Lip Color, a very strong pigmented lip gloss, was applied to lips.
