Mercedes-Benz Spring 2013 Fashion Week: Perry Ellis by Duckie Brown

In order to maintain the minimalistic style of the spring 2013 collection from Perry Ellis by Duckie Brown’s, Lead Hairstylist Ramona Eschbach for Oribe Hair Care opted for clean hair lines and a slicked back style to ensure the overall look was clean and fresh, as well as accommodating to the nude hats each model wore.

To achieve the look, Ramona and her team first gave all the male models haircuts and cleaned up their hairlines then sprayed Foundation Mist to prep the hair before using Gel Sérum to slick all the hair back, tight to the head, but without making it look too perfect. The hair was then set with heat from a blow-dryer, while hands smoothed the hair down and back, and finally the team spritzed Superfine Strong hairspray to ensure the look would hold.

Mënaji,a skincare company specifically for men, provided subtle makeup to the male models’ look to ensure they had a healthy, natural complexion. Lead Artist Ralph Siciliano said the idea was to minimize, not cover, to ensure each model had fresh and healthy skin. Siciliano and his team used the AfterShave Hydrator as a base to reduce redness then Urban Camouflage, a concealer for men, to hide blemishes and scars and finally on the high cheekbones the team used a little bit of Vaseline to give a subtle glow and ensure each model had radiant, glowing skin. —Aja Edwards
