Mercedes-Benz Spring 2013 Fashion Week: TIBI

Lead Hairstylists for Aveda Frank Rizzieri and Kevin Ryan created a style that was straight and sleek to complement the new simple spring 2013 collection from TIBI shown at Center 548.

To get the look, the guys used Pure Abundance Style Prep from roots to mid-shaft, blow-dried the hair straight and slick then added extensions to fill in the ends and give off an overly healthy head of hair. They loaded the hair with product and utilized heat to ensure the look would stay even in the humid September air. To finish the style, Rizzieri and Ryan brushed the hair forward over each shoulder.

TIBI designer, Amy Smilovic, chose two colors for the model’s nails from Dashing Diva’s new Colorfx Appliques, a gel manicure with two week wear but no need to soak in acetone for removal and they don’t ruin nail beds, which are new for 2013. The pale pink Petal Pusher was used on the nails and Stark Statement white for the toes to complement the pinks and whites in the collection, all filed short and rounded.

Due to the collections minimalistic and relaxed silhouettes, Lead Artist for Bobbi Brown Kimberly Soane left models’ faces natural and clean. The eyes were brought to life with a sheer wash of white shadow and a dusty blue, evoking a fresh yet modern feel. To complement the bright eye, eyebrows were groomed and defined, lips were matte and neutral while the cheeks featured a soft flush. — Aja Edwards
