Moroccanoil Styles Hilary Swank's Hair for New Year's Eve Premiere

Hilary Swank

To match the elegant midnight blue Elie Saab Couture dress that Hilary Swank wore to the Los Angeles premiere of her newest film, New Year's Eve, celebrity stylist and Moroccanoil Global Brand Ambassador Robert Vetica fashioned a glamorous, young and spirited hairstyle.

Vetica began by applying Moroccanoil Treatment to ensure tangle- and frizz-free locks before blow-drying for a deep side part. Focusing below the side part, he used a 3/4-inch curling iron from behind the ear, down. Moving towards the back, he took large sections of hair and directed the curl down, making sure not to spiral hair on the barrel.

On the side part, Vetica used the curling iron to create curls behind the ear and worked down. He again took larger sections toward the back of the head and loosely wrapped hair around the barrel of the iron.

Returning to the top of the part, Vetica took big sections and curled the hair in the opposite direction, pinning them out of the way, along the front hairline and down the side. For natural-looking strong hold, he used Luminous Hairspray. After hair set, he released the pins and brushed the hair.

Next, he brushed back the hair on the parted side and pinned it away from the face with bobby pins. Then he applied Hydrating Styling Cream and worked it through the style with his fingers to loosen the curls but maintain the style. Using the XLPro Paddle Brush and his fingers, he framed the hair around Swank's face and finished the look with another misting of Luminous Hairspray. —Kristen Heinzinger
