This past winter Ouidad hair care company participated as a sponsor of Mad Cats, a 1960s-inspired fundraiser and silent auction for New York City based non-profit, no-kill feline rescue group Anjellicle Cats Rescue.

As a sponsor, Ouidad created 1960s' retro hairstyles for four of ACR's volunteer staff members including ACR Director Kathryn Willis, and donated Ouidad products and services for bidding during the silent auction.

"At Ouidad we know how important it is to give back to the community," said Nicole Morris, director of flagship salon operations at Ouidad. "And it so happens that Ouidad's Creative Color Director Ian Scott Dorey and I both are proud owners of rescue cats; so when ACR approached us about the Mad Cats fundraiser, we thought what a great way to show fun 1960s retro hair styles and, at the same time, support a cause that is near and dear to us!"

Along with Ouidad, numerous other companies donated goods, including Aveda, Divawear Designs and Sephora. In total, ACR raised $5316 dollars toward its efforts in rescuing and rehabilitating New York City's unwanted, homeless and abused cats and kittens and get them properly placed into loving homes.

Founded 15 years ago in NYC's Hell's Kitchen neighborhood, ACR an all-volunteer, 501(c)(3) organization, and a member of the Mayor's Alliance and a New Hope Partner with the New York City Animal Care & Control (ACC). Each rescued feline receives medical attention and is placed in a foster home or an ACR adoption center until a permanent home is found.
