Paul Mitchell Starts a Business rEvolution

This July, Paul Mitchell brought leading salon owners, managers and stylists together  to talk business at the Red Rock Casino, Resort and Spa in Las Vegas. A first for the company, Business rEvolution featured an incredible lineup of world-renowned business coaches and beauty industry icons as well as breakout sessions and plenty of networking opportunities.

JPMS CEO and Co-Founder John Paul DeJoria kicked off the event by sharing his passion for a proactive leadership culture. “At John Paul Mitchell Systems, we don’t have bosses, we have leaders,” he said. “We all look to develop the next person to be a leader. I believe in 35 years, our turnover has only been about 50 people worldwide.”

DeJoria’s daughter, Michaeline DeJoria, Vice Chairman and Director of Future Business Development for JPMS, discussed what she called the four most important motivation points in the workplace: Fresh Eyes (look at something you’ve done forever and see if there are ways to do things differently), Humility (it’s not about ego but about what’s best for the team), Labor of Love (it’s what makes coming to work a joy, not a drag), and Trust (trust your instincts and your team).

Other speakers included JPMS Global Artistic Director Robert Cromeans, founder of ARCS Salons; Johnny and Meagan McCormack, the brother-sister duo who serve as President and CHO (Chief Happiness Officer) of Visible Changes; best-selling author and salon business expert Antony Whitaker; and Founder and CEO of Millennium Software, John Harms.

Jason Yates, VP of Sales and Marketing, shared his insights into using the four top social media platforms to increase business and offered 10 tips on best practices to successfully manage and maintain a salon social media presence.

This incredibly innovative and inspiring event allowed participants the opportunity to network with other salon owners and learn firsthand from industry experts how to run a more profitable and successful business. To learn more, visit paulmitchell.com/business-revolution.
