Raising the Bar

One of the highlights of the Redken 2009 Symposium came on opening night when awards were presented to three salons that have embraced Redken's professional edge in the past year. Charles David Salon of Norwell, MA, won the prestigious Redken Elite Salon of the Year award for the third consecutive year. An exclusive Redken salon since 2003, Charles David was chosen for its superior understanding of Redken principles, for fully embracing the Redken culture and for excellence in marketing its business. "Being honored for three years in a row is a thrill and joy to our team," says owner David Honeycutt. "Because of this honor we are able to bring our team the best educators in the industry, enabling our stylists to be all they can be."

Laus Deo of Twinsburg, Ohio, won the coveted Educational Excellence Award for its commitment to education for personal and professional success. The salon exhibited outstanding and ongoing in-salon education, event attendance and participation at educational development programs through 2008. As a result, they now have two Redken Certified Haircolorists, four Redken Specialists, two Redken Master Specialists and one Redken Artist on their team.

Finally, Blo Salon of Raleigh, NC, received the honor of Largest Percentage Gain among all Redken Elite salons, a result of exceptional retail and service sales marking a 29 percent increase from 2007. "Although humbled by all of this, it is extremely satisfying to see that the commitment Redken and Blo have toward each other continues to fuel opportunities for personal and professional growth within our company," says owner Bryan Nunes. —Marianne Dougherty, editor in chief, [email protected]
