At Sunday night’s Intercoiffure America/Canada Fall 2011 Celebrity Atelier, held at Manhattan’s Waldorf Astoria Hotel, renowned hairdresser Oribe was recognized for his 30 years in the industry with the prestigious Intercoiffure Visionnaire Award. The award was presented by Oribe’s client and friend Sarah Jessica Parker, who highlighted some of the hairdresser's greatest achievements, including his collaborations with fashion, photography and pop culture greats such as Gianni Versace, Steven Meisel, Irving Penn, Helmut Newton, Christy Turlington and Jennifer Lopez. Prior to the awards presentation, Oribe wowed the crowd of more than 500 top North American salon owners and industry insiders with a presentation, done in two acts, that took the audience on a journey through time and fantasy.
