Scruples Co-Founder Frank Liguori Passes Away at the Age of 84

On May 3, 2014, the beauty industry lost a beloved icon: Frank Liguori.

Liguori, who passed away at the age of 84, was the co-founder of Scruples Professional Salon Products. He began his career as an artist at an advertising agency, but realized very early on that he had a talent for sales and marketing. Working as a salesman calling on salons for a beauty supply distributor, Liguori was hired by LaMaur, Inc. as the North East Regional Sales Manager, where he climbed up the ladder to become Vice President of the Sales Division.

In 1983 Liguori left LaMaur, Inc. to pursue his dream of business ownership. Together with his business partner and good friend Jack Story, he founded Scruples Professional Salon Products. Through the years the company has seen continued growth and is still successful today.

With a true passion for the beauty industry, Liguori served on the BBSI Board of Directors, The Cosmetology Advancement Committee and The Cosmetology Resource Committee. He was also chosen as the City of Hope Honoree in 1991 and used this platform to raise money for cancer research.

He will be sorely missed by his family, friends and colleagues.
