Located in Southwestern Connecticut, Wilton is a scenic town with many acres of open space. Over the years, Wilton transitioned from a small farming town to a suburban residence but maintained its colonial landmarks and natural elements. Joanne Chapdelaine, salon manager, describes Steven Mancini Salon’s decor as casual chic. “It’s a beautiful, upbeat place to be,” she says. The 2,500-square-foot space, co-owned by Steven Gemignani and Carla Mancini, is adorned with crystal chandeliers and white curtains, and features a sleek design aesthetic, including skylights and rich hardwood floors. White styling stations with 6-foot-tall mirrors complement the ornate turquoise-and-gold wallpaper. Ample natural light from large windows illuminates the crystals and white decor.

The salon opened in 2007 and has a staff of 25 that’s committed not only to advancing techniques but also maintaining the health of clients’ hair, says Chapdelaine. “We believe that taking care of clients’ hair is an art and privilege,” she says. “We take pride in our work, and no detail is overlooked.” The team of professionals is trained in the newest trends and color techniques, as well as specialty hair and scalp treatments, she adds. Stylists receive in-salon training from Wella Professionals, Kérastase, Oribe and Moroccanoil and also attend outside educational events to learn about the latest looks.

All the work stylists put into enhancing their craft pays off—the color, cut and styling departments, in particular, are consistently busy, Chapdelaine says. “The attention to detail as well as the connection we establish with each client enables us to provide a number of services that clients are happy with,” she adds.

Looking forward, Chapdelaine says the staff wants to continue to grow the business while maintaining a high level of service and close relationships with clients. ✂ —Corie Russell
