Artistic Appeal “Infectious” is certainly an accurate word to describe Misael Aponte, and in the best way. The renowned colorist has wowed crowds with his captivating presentations, personality, passion and talent. Now, he joins Canada-based Oligo Professional as the international color director.Aponte credits his “inner nerd” for his color expertise. “I’ve always been a closet scientist and a closet artist,” he says. “What better way to combine science and art than hairdressing?” His showmanship, he says, comes from being raised in church. “I would see how different people presented, and notice the ones who had charisma,” he says. “I’ve always been charismatic, but figuring out how to dial it in to an engaging presentation came from being exposed to crowds, and being in front of a lot of people at a very young age.” As he continues to gain more exposure, it’s inevitable that he will continue to spread his love for color through his undeniable talent and infectious personality. —K.H.
