TIGI’s Anthony Mascolo Gets Up Close and Personal in the US

6 stops. 600+ salon owners. Groundbreaking techniques.

Hairdressing legend, TIGI Founder and International Artistic Director Anthony Mascolo made it his mission in 2015 to take the brand back-to-basics. Keeping with the philosophy “By Hairdressers, For Hairdressers,” Mascolo and TIGI Global Technical Creative Director, Christele Lundqvist, designed the tour as an educational tool for stylists across the US to hone in on skills from cutting to styling, with a keen focus on the popular TIGI Copyright Colour line. Guests were treated to an exclusive preview of Lundqvist’s “base shading” technique, which draws inspiration from the chiaroscuro shading technique from the traditional art world.

Having kicked off in Napa Valley on March 1st, and recently coming to a close at the impressive TIGI Academy in New York City’s SoHo district on June 9th, the tour succeeded in reestablishing TIGI as the ultimate authority in haircare. Each event began with a preview of the cut and color techniques found in the TIGI Collection 2016, continued with a deep dive into the Copyright Colour line of intermixable demi-permanent and permanent shades and rounded out with a display of “fantasy hair” as seen on the runways in New York, London and Paris.
