For their first collection, the brand affirms the undeniable link between the ancient way of life and its modern audience as each garment combines luxury and wearability, pairing contemporary tailoring with classic silhouettes.
While each of the men at Naadam had slightly different styles, Ruiz created an overall collective representing strength and tenacity.
“When I look at this man, I can see the power of his soul. He’s courageous. He’s fierce. He’s unstoppable,” said Ruiz.
How to Get the Look
Step 1: On damp hair, apply a coin-sized amount of Damage Remedy Daily Hair RepairTM to help with detangling.
Step 2: Using a wide-tooth comb, separate and elongate curls from roots to ends.
Step 3: Next, apply a generous coat of Pure AbundanceTM Style-PrepTM for weightless volume.
Step 4: Using a diffuser, blow dry hair in sections. Barely touch hair to keep curls elongated yet frizz- free.
Step 5: Emulsify 5 drops of Dry RemedyTM Daily Moisturizing Oil and scrunch into ends for added moisture.
Step 6: To finish, set with a light mist of Air ControlTM Hair Spray.
Aveda’s Ruiz and Geason created the full beauty look – an intricately wrapped ponytail and bold, beautiful brows that showcased the intrepid style of today’s modern nomad.
“The modern nomad is always on the go. She doesn’t want to spend too much time in front of the mirror, but she wants to look effortlessly chic,” Ruiz says.
How to Get the Hair Look
Step 1: Starting with clean, air-dried hair, divide in two sections from each ear; pin top half of hair on top of head.
Step 2: Taking smaller section in the bottom half of the hair, generously spray hair from roots to ends with Pure AbundanceTM Style PrepTM for added texture.
Step 3: Section by section, twist saturated hair and massage each twist to loosen. Blow dry to build in texture and wave. Leave the twists to set.
Step 4: With all twists completed on the bottom of the head, take the top section and apply Pure AbundanceTM Hair Potion for added texture. Repeat section twists from Step 3.
Step 5: While the top twists dry; start to unravel the bottom twists, gently pulling them apart to reveal waves.
Step 6: Take two small bottom sections of hair from each ear to nape and pull the sections crisscrossed over the hair to form the wrapped ponytail. Cross the sections once again under the hair and repeat for a second wrap; secure with a clear elastic.
Section 7: Gently pull the hair at the crown of head to loosen the ponytail. Spray with Pure AbundanceTM Style PrepTM and blow dry for one more surge of texture.
Step 8: Finish with a light mist of Air ControlTM Hair Spray.
How to Get the Makeup Look
Face: On freshly washed and dried skin, apply Inner LightTM Concealer where needed; set with Inner LightTM Mineral Loose Powder.
Eyes: Create a matte lid and brow bone by applying the lightest shade. Groom brows slightly by brushing up and over, but still allowing them to look a bit unkempt. Apply the darkest shade of Petal EssenceTM Eye Color Trio in Golden Jasper from lash line to brow.Petal EssenceTM Eye Color Trio in Golden Jasper to the brows using a spoolie brush so the brows are filled-in, but don’t look so ‘done.’
Cheeks: Shape cheeks with Petal EssenceTM Face Accents in Rose Blossom for a wind-blown effect.
Lips: Dab lips lightly with Nourish-MintTM Sheer Mineral Lip Color in Sheer Peony.
