Wendy Watkins Words of Wisdom: Watering the Seeds

Wendy Watkins

Wendy WatkinsI am sitting here in my favorite coffee shop enjoying another rainy day here in Atlanta. We have had a lot of rain; good-bye pollen, hello tulips! What are you watering your garden of success with? You have planted seeds that include hiring great people, creating a beautiful space for you, your staff and your clients, and using wonderful products that make people look and feel good. What are you watering those seeds with?

Specifically, let’s look at those people seeds. Are they clear on what it is you expect from them? For instance, they know that you want them to attend educational opportunities and sell retail, but have you set up a specific plan for them? What is the right amount of education for them to reach for this year and in what areas? What are their retail goals each month, each week, each day?

Next, are you helping them to weed their garden? The weeds I’m talking about are negative thoughts. These days, weeds of this type are growing like crazy. Here is a good weed killer you can try: this month, share a positive quote, a statement or a song with your team on a daily basis. This will help them raise their joy factor. When they are clear on where they are going and have positivity sprinkled into their day, they are guaranteed to grow and bloom. When your team is in full bloom, so will your business be!
