Celebrity hairstylist Garren has teamed up with R+Co (a brand he co-founded) to launch Bleu, a couture haircare line. The 21-product lineup features formulas that heal, rebuild, nourish and protect. As for the name, it was inspired by the restorative tranquility of destinations like Capri, Positano and the Caribbean islands.
“R+Co Bleu transforms the hair, providing editorial access at home,” says Garren, whose celebrity clientele has included the likes of Linda Evangelista, Farrah Fawcett, Madonna, Victoria Beckham, Kendall Jenner and Karlie Kloss.
Each category of care—from cleansers to stylers—has its own distinct shape and color-coded cap, and each range is divided into families according to benefit and four color stories: blue for Essentials, orange-red for Color, green for Repair & Moisture, and purple for Volume.
Bottles and jars are made completely from post-consumer recycled material, and tubes are constructed from recyclable bioresin sugarcane plastic. Plus, the line is color-safe, vegan, Leaping Bunny-certified, and gluten-, sulfate- and paraben-free. Taking sustainability one step further, each product carton is a seed-infused card that will grow wildflowers when planted, emphasizing R+Co Bleu’s One Tree Planted partnership supporting global reforestation.
“Each salon is unique, as is their clientele—from downtown to uptown, rock 'n' roll to tailored, trend-obsessed to timeless, salons want to offer lines that speak to all clients,” says Tev Finger, CEO of Luxury Brand Partners, who says the development of R+Co Bleu came from a request directly from the salon network. “The relationship of R+Co and R+Co Bleu is similar to Mercedes and Maybach, or Miu Miu and Prada: a shared DNA with a different philosophical approach.”
