Matrix Biolage R.A.W. Continues the Botanical Revolution with Hair Care

Over 25 years ago, Biolage looked to Mother Nature to provide professional hair care products infused with rejuvenating botanicals. Now, Biolage is turning to her again, pushing the beauty botanical boundaries to create a natural-origin hair care line. This latest launch, Biolage R.A.W., offers salon professionals ingredients that retain more than 50 percent of their original plant or mineral molecular structure. “The minimal processing of Biolage R.A.W. ingredients ensures that we stay as close to nature as possible, while increasing the ingredient’s stability, efficacy and safety,” says Marketing Director Charlie Gant. In keeping with the company’s commitment to sustainability, the packages are made with recycled materials, the formulations are up to 99 percent biodegradable, and there’s a focus on sustainable ingredient sourcing. “For instance, we use quinoa husk from Bolivia—which is a great renewable cosmetic ingredient, but historically considered waste,” says Gant. “Using this ingredient helps provide long-term benefits to Bolivian quinoa growers.”

So what can hairdressers expect when they carry Biolage R.A.W. products? Three unique blends of shampoos and conditioners infused with rejuvenating botanicals sourced from around the world. The Nourish regimen transforms dry hair with quinoa husk, honey, coconut oil and kaolin clay, improving smoothness and elasticity. The Uplift regimen boosts fullness with black sesame, grapefruit, kiwi and kaolin clay. And, the Recover regimen pampers stressed, sensitized hair with yucca, goji berry, kaolin clay and coriander oil. Rounding out the line, there’s also a full range of conditioning clay masks and a multi-tasking oil mist.

“We created Biolage R.A.W. because the naturals market in personal care is growing at an unprecedented rate—with hair care representing the fastest growing portion of that market,” says Gant. Now, with their natural-origin hair care line, hairdressers can expect a high level of botanicals, combined with a high level of efficacy. As for the name, “Biolage R.A.W. stands for Real. Authentic. Wholesome,” says Gant. Mother Nature couldn’t have named it better herself.
