IGK’s fan fave First Class Charcoal Detox Dry Shampoo got a limited-edition upgrade with vibrant, colorful artwork by visual arts duo DABSMYLA. The packaging features a double wrap label of artwork that can be made into a collectable piece of art by peeling back the label and framing the design.
“The intention behind this collaboration is to excite an existing First Class loyalist with something new and unexpected, while also connecting with a new audience. We also didn’t want to just have a limited-edition artist label, but wanted to make something that is collectible–something true to the art. DABSMYLA has a cult following, are loved by IGK stylists, and are cutting edge in their talent, making them the perfect partner for IGK,” said DanLanger, group president, LBP Prestige Hair Group, in a press release.
Australian husband-and-wife visual artists DABSMYLA employ a shared design language that dictates subject matter, positioning, color theory and perspective. DABSMYLAinfuse their works with immersive environments that enhance the sense of whimsy and grandeur contained inside paintings, mixed media and sculpture. They’ve also created some of the most notable street art today.
DABSMYLA introduced the Day & Night concept for the IGK packaging,which is based on their existing pieces "Daylight," "Sunset" and "Midnight,” and the actual artwork is based on a piece they are still working on called "Daydream Believers.” DABSMYLA wanted to include their existing Star and Heart characters to add a presence to the scenery.
Key Ingredients and Benefits: Charcoal powder detoxifies the scalp and removes dirt and buildup, while white tea powder soothes the scalp.
How To Use: Shake well. Section hair and apply product in a sweeping motion to dirty and oily areas. Wait 30 seconds for the powders to activate cooling and cleansing effects. Remove excess powder by massaging and shaking at roots with fingers or brush. Shake and repeat if necessary.
