Sabrina Carpenter went full Old Hollywood glam for the 2026 Met Gala in the most literal of ways: in a custom Dior gown crafted with classic film strips from Audrey Hepburn’s 1954 movie “Sabrina.”
To match the energy and whimsy of the pop star’s theatrical vision, Carpenter’s go-to hairstylist Evanie Frausto gave her exaggerated, sculpted pin curls that echoed the film loops adorning her slitted halter-neck gown — the perfect foundation to set off her jeweled headpiece featuring the movie’s title card.
“I created a sculptured vintage-inspired shape with a clean, modern finish,” Frausto says.
“With Sabrina's Dior look being made from film, there was a cinematic and archival theme to her look.”
Frausto, a Redken Artistic Ambassador, used the brand’s product line to complete her faux bob. Celebrity makeup artist Carolina Gonzalez created the pop star’s luminous flushed skin, smoky eyes, and “bitten lip" effect.
“Sabrina has such a refined, timeless sensibility. I wanted the hair to feel like a modern interpretation of Old Hollywood,” Frausto says. “Hair that felt intentional and polished from every angle going up the Met Gala steps.”

Step by Step
- I prepped with Redken Acidic Bonding Concentrate Leave-In Treatment and Big Blowout, then blow-dried the hair smooth and close to the head to keep the silhouette controlled and polished.
- The sides were directed back, pinned tight, and rolled under to create a sleek, contoured shape. In the nape, I built two additional soft rolls that sweep back and out, giving contrast and dimension while still feeling cohesive.
- The placement and direction of each roll was key to balancing structure with softness and keeping the look elevated rather than overly set.
- I finished with Redken Spray Wax, Shine Flash, and Control Hairspray for definition, high shine, and flexible hold.
