American Salon Exclusive: Matt Beck & Candy Shaw

Nicknamed “The Balay Lama”, Candy Shaw literally grew up in the beauty industry. Candy is the daughter of Jamison Shaw, the first American to win hairdressing’s World Championships. Like her father, she is considered one of the world’s top stylists. Candy works behind the chair full-time, and with the aid of six assistants, sees up to 35 clients per day. In 2014, Candy launched the revolutionary new Professionnel Balayage Lightener SUNLIGHTS, along with THE BALAY BOX, a complete balayage artist kit. American Salon special correspondent Matt Beck (@freesaloneducation) interviewed Candy at length during Cosmoprof North American (where The Balay Box was honored as winner of Beauty Pitch).
