As a reminder that sun protection isn't just for skin, Dove has launched a four-product line focused on preventing and repairing sun-related hair damage.
The new UV Repair & Glow collection centers on Dove's HPF 70 (Hair Protection Factor) claim, which the Unilever-owned brand says helps protect hair from internal UV damage for up to 70 hours.
With repeated use the products are designed to repair up to 99% of accumulated internal UV damage, says Emily Barfoot, Head of Dove U.S., Beauty and Wellbeing
“We've gotten so used to protecting our skin, but hair has largely been left out of that conversation," she says.
"We knew that UV exposure is one of the top causes of hair damage and we set out to address two things: how to repair hair from internal UV damage and how to protect it from future damage," Barfoot says.
“With our UV Repair & Glow line, we're making it so anyone can get high-gloss, healthier looking strands while protecting their hair from future sun damage and repairing damage already done."
The collection includes:
- UV Repair & Glow Bi-Phase Serum + Oil Spray: Leave-in mist designed to help protect against UV damage while adding shine and softness.
- UV Repair & Glow Shampoo: Gentle enough to use daily to cleanse and hydrate UV-damaged hair.
- UV Repair & Glow Conditioner: A rinse-out antioxidative treatment that restores softness and shine while repairing UV-damaged locks.
- UV Repair & Glow 10-in-1 Radical Recovery Mask: A weekly treatment mask for repair, softness and shine.
