Naeemah LaFond on How to Easily Repair Clients' Hair

The countdown to summer is officially on, but there's still plenty of time to get your clients' hair in tip-top shape before the warm weather arrives. Amika's latest launch, the new-and-improved Repair Collection, has all of the products you need to revive and strengthen hair, all while preventing future damage.

American Salon sat down with Amika's Global artistic director Naeemah LaFond to talk about how the Repair Collection can be added to your salon services.

As a stylist, how would you recommend using the Repair Collection in the salon?

The repair collection should be used together for the most impactful results in bringing life and health back to damaged hair, but can also be used separately. The Kure Multi-Task Repair Treatment can work as a rapid add-on service for clients that need some hair love with instant results. This mask is also perfect to add on to a chemical service where you want to ensure that the health of the clients hair is optimal when they walk out of the salon.

Can you walk us through a service where you’d include products from this collection?

If a client with double-processed blonde hair comes in for a blowout, I would recommend using The Kure Bond Repair Shampoo and Conditioner for her wash in combination with The Kure Multi-Task Repair Treatment depending on her hair type. If her hair looks and feel super damaged to a point where you are concerned with any further breakage, I would suggest using the Multi-Task as a leave-in. Prior to blow-drying and before adding a heat protectant, you want to use The Closer Instant Repair Cream to ensure that the ends blow out smooth and look healthy.

Can clients benefit from receiving this service in salon and then continuing the treatment at home?

All of the products can be used at home. This collection is super user-friendly, which means that your client can’t overdo it. These products can be added to any daily regimen.
